※今回は、趣向を変えて「日本語・英語」の2言語で紹介したいと思います。

 We are studying in the NICE (New Intensive Course in English) program for three weeks this summer in Honolulu. This program is giving us classes at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, the main campus. This beautiful campus is near downtown Honolulu, Ala Moana Shopping Center and the beaches of Waikiki. We have classes for four hours a day, Monday through Friday, starting at mid-day. After the orientation on the first day, we had an oral interview speaking test to place us in the correct level of class.
 
　この夏、本学では海外7カ国・9大学への海外留学を実施しています。今回紹介するのは、ハワイ大学マノア校での語学研修です。ハワイ大学での語学研修は3週間のプログラムで、メインキャンパスのあるマノア校で授業を行っています。キャンパスはとても美しく、ホノルルのダウンタウン、アラモアナショッピングセンター、ワイキキのビーチの近くにあります。授業は、月曜日から金曜日までで、1日4時間です。初日のオリエンテーションの後、習熟度別のクラス分けのために面接によるスピーキングテストが行われました。

 While staying in Honolulu, we are supported by our hosts. Our homestay family experience provides us with a safe environment and helps us with our language learning.
 During the morning, we study and prepare for class, or sometimes we visit attractions to enjoy the beauty of the island. We often go sight-seeing or shopping from the late afternoon after classes, and
of course go to the beach as often as we can.
 
　ハワイでは優しいホストファミリーに迎えられ、ハワイ大学での英語学修のサポートをしてくださっています。午前中は授業の準備で授業はお昼から、時にはクラスで島をめぐりアクティビティに出かけます。放課後は授業の課題に取り組んだり、友人たちとビーチに散策したりして、充実した日々を過ごしています。
　こういった海外での経験は、学生にとって大きな成長につながっていくでしょう。
