Research
Institute for Economics is primarily concerned with
the following two areas:
First, this institute strongly encourages instructors
at Faculty of Economics to conduct research related
to economic issues. Japan and the world are now
facing a crucial transitional period as evidenced
by the rapid progress of information technology
and globalization in economy. People are questioning
the essential value of economics and it is necessary
to examine a new and better direction for our society
and lives.

The institute's
other task is to forge closer affiliations with the community
in cooperation with the Yao Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
the City of Yao and its citizens. We currently provide
classes to which corporate executives are invited, offer
symposia on urban development, and participate in a project
that has been designed to utilize vacant commercial property.
Since it is important to examine local living conditions
in this era of economic globalization, the university
feels it has an obligation to make a positive social contribution
in the Yao area. As a university open to the community,
the potential exists for the creation of new educational
and research fields.
The institute collects and collates documents and material
on the projects it is involved with and publishes them
in Annals of Economics Research. |
