The purpose
of the Asian Research Institute is to conduct interdisciplinary
research and studies over a wide range of fields, including
political science, law, economics, sociology, history, and culture,
mainly in East Asia and Southeast Asia. The Asian Research Institute
was established in December 1987, and at the present time the
Institute consists of 31 staff members, who are the teaching
staff at Osaka University of Economics and Law, and some 170
visiting researchers from Japan and overseas. |

- Academic exchange agreement with the Institute for Korean
Unification Studies, Yonsei University, Republic of Korea(1996).
